CIWM held two public lectures and colloquium in April, September and December respectively.
The inaugural public lecture was delivered by Mr Iqbal Ahmad Khan, CEO of Fajr Capital and the 2012 Royal Islamic Finance recipient. He spoke
“The Future of Islamic Wealth Management in Malaysia and the OIC World: Issues and Challenges”.
The second public lecture on “positioning Malaysia as an Islamic Wealth Management Marketplace – Regulator’s Perspective” was delivered by Datuk Ranjit Ajit Singh, Chairman of Securities Commission Malaysia. The colloquium on “Managing Issues and Challenges in the Islamic Wealth Management Industry” was collectively delivered by practitioners and academicians in the Islamic Wealth Management Industry
Notwithstanding these activities, there are on-going industry-based research projects sponsored and managed by CIWM. To date, the centre has awarded two scholarships to INCEIF students to pursue PhD in Islamic Finance with their research on selected areas of Islamic wealth management.
